XTimeline

XTimeline is a Web 2.0 tool that let's users create visual timelines of events, either individually or collaboratively in groups. It's interface is fairly easy to use and can easily integrate graphics.

The entry of dates is slow, but there is a feature that allows you to upload dates entered into an Excel spreadsheet.

XTimeline also allows you to integrate audio, video or other embeddable media into the timelines, which is a great way to create a media-based timeline. You'll note in my sample below, I placed a YouTube video.

XTimelines also allows a user to share a timelime with other accounts and collaborate on those timelines, making it a good solution to share a timeline project among students.
